Downtown Austin

Downtown Austin undergoes a transformation during the cooler months. During the summer, the downtown area can be a hot and muggy mess of cars, tourists, hipsters, and professionals making their way about town. But during the fall and winter, the storefronts transform into bastions of the season, and the weather cools down, so that a stroll downtown is possible without perspiring. Downtown Austin is known for it’s many watering holes and outdoor dining areas. There’s no better time of year to take advantage of those auspices than in the fall. Serrano’s downtown has a great outdoor dining patio and if you’re looking for a nice biergarten, the ever-popular Easy Tiger is your ticket. Also, if you happen to be downtown early on a Saturday, be sure to visit the downtown farmer’s market for all the best seasonal foods.
